Our stay at Friars Retreat in Sudbury was absolutely delightful. The location was perfect, allowing us to easily explore Cambridge and the surrounding areas. The cottage itself had a charming, old-fashioned feel with its vintage furnishings and beautiful old beams. The kitchen was well-equipped and the bathroom was surprisingly spacious. We also appreciated the comfortable beds and the en-suite in the front bedroom. Despite being close to the road, the cottage was surprisingly quiet, allowing for a peaceful and relaxing stay. we highly recommend Friars Retreat for a perfect getaway retreat. I highly recommend this charming cottage for a wonderful and relaxing retreat.

The fully equipped kitchen at this holiday home was a life-saver. I felt like a master chef whipping up meals that would put Gordon Ramsay to shame. Trust me, my culinary skills went from microwave magician to Michelin star in no time.

    Steep stairs, limited airflow.

Stovetop and fully equipped kitchen - I felt like a master chef in my own little culinary kingdom, whipping up delicious meals with ease. It was like having my very own mini cooking show, minus the pressure of being judged by Gordon Ramsay!

Sofas and bed size - Could have been bigger for optimum comfort.

I had a fantastic stay at this charming holiday cottage. The location was great, making it easy to explore the surrounding areas. The facilities were fantastic, with a spacious and well-equipped kitchen. The bathroom was large and the shower was exceptional. The owner's attention to detail was evident, with a delicious Victoria sponge cake provided. The old beams and ancient carved beam in the living room added character to the beautiful furnishings. I also appreciated the comfortable beds and the en-suite in the front bedroom. The town itself was small and quiet, perfect for a peaceful getaway retreat.

    Nothing for me.

I recently stayed at this lovely old cottage on the edge of historic Sudbury. It was the perfect location for exploring the Stour Valley walk and Gainsborough House museum. The cottage itself was well equipped and comfortable, with interesting house construction and old beams. The kitchen and bathroom were excellent, and the beds were comfortable. I especially appreciated the en-suite in the front bedroom. The location of the cottage was ideal, with good restaurants and cafés nearby, as well as easy access to town and all amenities. The added bonus of a home-baked cake on arrival made us feel truly welcome. Thank you for a perfect stay.

    Totally recommend this hotel.
